Fun Wedding Photo Ideas | Down The Rabbit Hole

I spent a little more time on this one.  I’m a huge Luis Carroll/Alice in Wonderland fan and I wanted to do a more legit fun wedding party photo so I sent them down the rabbit hole!

DIY Mural | Easier Than I Thought

As we were preparing for Kid 1 I was experimenting with doing some of the wall art myself, just simple things at first like Winnie The Pooh and cartoon characters, but they turned out so well I thought why not see what I can really do?  I used a cheap projector I got at walmart to project the image I wanted onto the wall, adjusting the distance to increase/decrease size, and basically traced the image with paint.  It worked perfectly!  Or about as near perfect as I could have hoped.  The only difficult part was the shadows and midtones.  I had to use my imagination there a little to fill in the trace but even that turned out better than I expected.  Then I just added some creative flourishings to taste and a quote and viola!

DIY Fatherhood | Art And Murals For The Baby Room

As we prepared to decorate the baby room for baby number 1, I looked at some wall art to put up but it was all so expensive.  So I decided hey, it’s not everyday you have open walls you can just paint on! why not just play around and see if some DIY art is a viable option, and if not or we mess up we can always paint over it.  But it actually turned out great!  And it was super easy.  Basically I used a cheap projector I picked up at Walmart to project whatever google image or collage of images I wanted onto the wall and then just traced over it.  So simple yet effective.  Who knew?
