Husbands Love Your Wives

Good Reminder.  Sacrificial love, like Christ loved his bride the church and gave himself up for her, even to death, even death on a cross.

Ephesians 5:25-33

“25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,
30 for we are members of his body.
31 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
32 This is a profound mystery but I am talking about Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself”

Verse

2 Peter 2:10
“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.”

2 Peter 3:8
“With the Lord a day is like a thousand years.”

Ahhh…makes sense now. Haha.

Verse

Matthew 14:30-31
“But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Matthew 9:24
“I do believe help my unbelief”

Verse

Luke 10:41-42
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary…”

Luke 12:29-34
“Do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock…Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Verse

Proverbs 10:5
“A wise son stores up for the winter”

But

Luke 12:18-20
“I will tear down my barns and build larger ones and there I will store all my grain and goods…and I will say eat drink be merry. But God said to him you fool this very night your soul is demanded of you.”

One’s wrong the other’s right.  The difference is motivation.

Verse

Keep marching.

“See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands”
“March around the city […] then the wall of the city will collapse”

“After you have suffered for a little while […] The God of all grace […] will establish you”

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged”

Verse

1 Peter 5:10

Psalms 30:5
“Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
